Be careful with your domains

Domains are important part of your business as they allow customers to easily identify you on the internet. You may have the same name on the internet as you do in the real world but in some cases you may have a totally different name depending on whether your domain was available, whatever your domain name you need to protect it as it is important.
Many domain registration companies try to scam people out of their domains or obtain money by deception by making you believe your domain is about to expire unless you pay them a lot of money.
Domains vary in prices depending on the TLD or Top Level Domain so a .co.uk would cost around £8 - £10, .com would be around £25 - £30 and this is for 2 years registration. Some of the scammers ask for $75 a year and also make it look attractive and worth your while saving money if you register for 10 years.
Dr Adept include domain renewals in all hosting agreements and do not charge extra for this, pay your hosting fees on time and Dr Adept renew domain without any worry on your part.

Here is an example of an email I received recently telling me in no uncertain terms that I needed to renew my domain or it would be cancelled.
UPDATE
Another email received for domain service notice asking to fax 1-646-385-7542 before your domain expires.

A new fee as well; lifetime for $999.00 WOW what a bargain...
Worded to sound like you have to register to be found on the search engines. They cover themselves by stating "You are under no obligation to pay the amounts stated below unless you accept this offer." and that the payment is for "Search engine subscription includes domain name search engine submission."
So you are not paying for domain renewal but for search engine submissions.
Another problem with these companies is that they never use a real email address, it is almost always a random Hotmail, Yahoo or Googlemail email address. So they cannot be traced or spammed themselves. This time the email address was Domain Services - domainsy220@hotmail.com which changes each time.
Beware. Delete the emails and never respond.
